Blackberry & Honey Hot Wings

Ingredients

Chicken wings
2 1/2 cups
Blackberries
1/2 cup
Honey
1 tablespoon
Ketchup
1/4 cup
Orange juice
1 1/2 tablespoons
Chipotle tabasco sauce
OR a hot sauce of your choice with a sprinkle of chipotle powder
1 tablespoon
Brown sugar
1 teaspoon
Balsamic vinegar
1 pinch
Black pepper
1/4 cup
Melted butter
Zest from 1 orange
Step by Step Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees, then bake the wings for 40 to 50 minutes.
- While the wings cook, put the blackberries, honey, ketchup, orange juice, hot sauce, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar into a blender and puree until smooth. Strain the seeds out of the mixture if desired, then mix the puree and the melted butter together.
- Drain the juices from the wings, then pour the sauce over the wings until they are evenly coated. Retain any remaining puree to use as dipping sauce.
- Put the wings back into the oven for 5 minutes, sprinkle the wings with the orange zest & additional brown sugar, then bake for 5 minutes more.
